About the Role

We are looking for a Medical Billing Coordinator to manage the end-to-end billing workflow and ensure timely, accurate reimbursement for healthcare services. This role prepares and submits insurance claims, verifies ICD-10/CPT coding and documentation, tracks claim progress, posts payments, and resolves denials to maintain a healthy accounts receivable pipeline.

This role works closely with providers, administrative teams, patients, and insurance payers to uphold revenue integrity, maintain precise financial records, and ensure a positive financial experience for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review diagnosis (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT/HCPCS) for accuracy, completeness, and documentation support prior to claim creation.
  • Prepare and submit clean electronic claims (837P / CMS-1500) via Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clearinghouses.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, authorization, and required billing documentation.
  • Monitor claim adjudication status through clearinghouses, payer portals, and phone outreach to resolve rejections and errors promptly.
  • Apply payer-specific guidelines, fee schedules, and timely filing limits to reduce avoidable rejections.
  • Analyze denial codes, correct documentation or billing issues, prepare revised claims or appeals, and track outcomes.
  • Interpret EOBs and ERAs to accurately post insurance and patient payments, reconcile balances, and manage underpayments.
  • Process patient credit card payments, issue statement balances, and manage refund or adjustment requests per organizational policy.
  • Monitor aging reports, perform accounts receivable follow-up, and escalate unresolved claims to prevent revenue loss.
  • Assist patients with billing, balance, and statement inquiries using empathetic, clear, and professional communication.
  • Safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and payer compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Must be located in Lahore or Islamabad.
  • Candidates must be CPC and/or AAPC certified.
  • Candidates must have great written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Able to work full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. health insurance plans (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Proven experience reading EOB/ERA remittances and navigating clearinghouses and EHR platforms.
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent English communication (written and verbal).
