Join our reputable Customs Clearance Firm as a Client Relationship Officer (CRO), where you will play a crucial role in managing client interactions and ensuring the smooth processing of customs documentation. This role demands a highly organized and detail-focused professional responsible for preparing and submitting Goods Declarations (GDs), handling import and export documentation, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and procedural standards. You will serve as the primary contact for clients, coordinating document submission timelines and providing expert guidance on customs processes to ensure timely and accurate service delivery. This position includes managing a team of five personnel, fostering collaboration and efficiency within the department. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in customs clearing or logistics with at least eight years of relevant experience. You must exhibit excellent communication skills, adeptness in client handling, and proficiency in MS Office and specialized customs brokerage software. The role requires the ability to work effectively under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and liaise seamlessly with internal teams and external authorities. As a CRO, you will directly contribute to client satisfaction and operational excellence by delivering professional, transparent, and timely updates throughout the customs clearance process.
Responsibilities
 

  • Prepare and submit Goods Declarations (GDs) accurately within the customs system, ensuring full compliance with relevant customs regulations and policies.
  • Manage and maintain all import and export documentation, verifying the completeness and accuracy of information to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
  • Coordinate proactively with clients to secure timely provision of necessary documents and resolve any issues related to documentation or customs procedures.
  • Ensure that all customs clearance activities comply strictly with regulatory and procedural requirements, minimizing risk and delays.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments such as logistics, finance, and compliance, as well as with customs authorities and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide professional and clear updates to clients, addressing inquiries promptly and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and trust.
  • Lead and supervise a team of five staff members, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluation to promote a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor operational workflows and identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce errors in customs documentation and client service.
  • Train and mentor team members on customs procedures, client relationship management, and the use of customs brokerage software, ensuring consistent quality standards.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively to meet strict deadlines and handle multiple client cases concurrently without compromising accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs laws, regulations, and industry trends, proactively implementing necessary adjustments to company processes and training.
  • Maintain confidential client records and follow data protection policies to safeguard sensitive information throughout the customs clearance process.
