Play Café & Coffee Shop Consultant

We are a founder-led, pre-launch hospitality venture developing a Play Café + Coffee Shop in DHA Phase 6 (Bukhari Commercial), Karachi.

We are seeking an experienced consultant to guide the setup, operational planning, and launch readiness of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on concept development and positioning

• Support layout planning and service workflows

• Develop SOPs for daily operations

• Guide staffing structure and training approach

• Provide input on launch strategy and customer experience

Scope of Engagement:

The consultant will provide structured guidance across the following areas:

Concept & Business Setup

• Advise on concept development, positioning, and differentiation

• Validate business model assumptions and pricing strategy

• Align the play café concept with local market expectations

Design, Layout & Operations

• Support layout planning for café & play zones

• Define service workflows and operational flows

• Ensure safety, hygiene, and customer experience considerations

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Develop SOP frameworks for daily operations

• Define service standards for front-of-house and play areas

• Establish operational controls and checklists

People & Training

• Advise on staffing structure and role definitions

• Support hiring strategy & onboarding approach

• Guide staff training processes and service culture

Launch & Customer Experience

• Provide input on launch planning and readiness

• Advise on customer journey, retention, and engagement

• Support early-stage performance tracking and refinement

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal consultant will bring a combination of hands-on operational experience and strategic advisory capability, with the ability to work closely with a founder during the pre-launch phase of a hospitality venture.

• Proven experience in hospitality, F&B, café, restaurant, or retail consulting, ideally involving pre-launch or expansion projects

• Strong understanding of end-to-end café operations, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and service workflows

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement SOPs, operational checklists, and service standards

• Experience advising on layout planning, space utilization, and customer flow, with attention to safety and customer experience

• Sound knowledge of staffing models, role definitions, and training frameworks for hospitality teams

• Ability to translate concepts into practical, executable plans rather than high-level theory

• Familiarity with family-focused or experiential concepts (e.g., play cafés, kids zones, community spaces) is a strong advantage

• Understanding of local market dynamics in Karachi, including customer expectations, staffing availability, and operational realities

• Comfortable working in a founder-led, early-stage environment with evolving requirements

• Strong communication skills and ability to advise, challenge, and collaborate constructively with the founder

• Organized, process-driven, and able to work within defined timelines and milestones

Company registration is in progress.

Location has been purchased & secured at Bukhari Commercial Area, DHA Phase 6, Karachi.

Engagement structure and fees are negotiable based on experience.
