Education: At least a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the development sector, preferably in education. Proven expertise in managing large-scale education or literacy projects, with strong preference for candidates having hands-on experience with TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level) and/or ECCE (Early Childhood Care & Education) models.
Project Overview
In partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), ITA is implementing a multi-sectoral literacy initiative in the Malir and Kemari districts of Karachi. The project targets primary and ECCE children through foundational literacy, numeracy, and community-based interactive libraries.
Role Summary
The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end execution of literacy and foundational learning interventions. This role is responsible for ensuring that field operations align with ITA’s values of transparency and inclusivity while meeting technical milestones within government schools and marginalized communities. You will not just be engaged in the WFP project but other activities of ITA Sindh Office.
Key Responsibilities
● Operational Leadership: Manage the daily implementation of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) camps across 100+ government schools.
● ECCE & Library Oversight: Supervise the distribution of ECCE kits for school readiness and the operation of Kitab Gari (mobile rickshaw libraries).
● Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for the School Education and Literacy Department (SELD), District Education Offices, and School Management Committees (SMCs).
● Financial Management: Oversee project expenditures and ensure all field-level spending adheres to ITA’s financial policies and donor compliance requirements.
● Capacity Building: Oversee the professional development and mentoring of government teachers in inclusive and gender-responsive pedagogies.
● Team Management: Provide strategic direction to a field team, including Teacher Training Managers, District Mobilization Officers, and M&E staff.
● Procurement Engagements: Oversee the acquisition of library furniture and digital tools, while coordinating with ITA Publications as well.
● Operations Reports: Draft regular progress reports based on baseline diagnostic assessments and student learning data.
● Quality Assurance: Use data-driven insights to track student progress and ensure all activities meet ITA’s quality standards.

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs200,000.00 per month
