Position Summary
The Vice President of Quality is responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining the company’s global quality strategy, ensuring that all products and processes meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, consistency, and performance.
This executive will oversee quality assurance, quality control, regulatory alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization and its partners.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented executive leader with deep expertise in quality systems, regulatory standards, and operational excellence within consumer products, wellness, beauty, or healthcare industries.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead the company-wide quality vision, strategy, and governance framework.
- Establish global quality standards for products, ingredients, manufacturing, and packaging.
- Build a culture of quality excellence across all functions and partners.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Oversee all QA/QC systems across product development, production, and distribution.
- Ensure consistency, safety, and compliance of all products and processes.
- Implement standardized testing protocols, inspection procedures, and validation systems.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations and standards (FDA, GMP, ISO, etc. as applicable).
- Manage documentation, audits, certifications, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory partners to maintain compliance across markets.
Supplier & Manufacturing Quality
- Evaluate, approve, and monitor suppliers, manufacturers, and third-party partners.
- Establish strict quality criteria for sourcing raw materials and production partners.
- Conduct regular audits and performance reviews of external partners.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to improve product quality, process efficiency, and operational reliability.
- Implement root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) systems.
- Drive innovation in quality systems and testing methodologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, Product Development, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure quality standards are embedded in product design and development stages.
- Provide guidance on product improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MSc, or PhD in relevant discipline).
- 10–15+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or regulatory leadership roles.
- Proven experience building and scaling quality systems in consumer products, beauty, wellness, or healthcare industries.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, FDA regulations, and global compliance frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturing partners preferred.
