Design Engineer - Solar

Job Description

Ghulam Faruque Group is looking for a skilled Design Engineer specializing in solar energy systems to join their engineering team. This role focuses on developing detailed photovoltaic (PV) solar system designs, including on-grid and battery energy storage systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in project feasibility assessments, shading analysis, and energy yield analysis to ensure optimal system performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams such as project managers, sales, and installation personnel, the engineer will ensure designs meet both technical requirements and compliance with local, national, and international standards. This position requires proficiency in electrical system design and power system modeling as well as hands-on experience with technical tools like AutoCAD and simulation software. The role does not involve team management but requires strong technical collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
 

• Develop detailed solar photovoltaic (PV) system designs covering on-grid and battery energy storage systems, including accurate component selection and layout planning.
• Create comprehensive electrical schematics and technical specifications that conform to industry codes and regulatory standards.
• Conduct site surveys and shading analyses to evaluate project feasibility and optimize energy production predictions.
• Perform energy yield analysis and load flow assessments to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Use Power System Modeling and Simulation tools to validate design concepts and predict electrical behavior under various conditions.
• Collaborate closely with project management, sales, and installation teams to align designs with project requirements and timelines.
• Assist the procurement team in selecting appropriate components and materials based on technical compatibility and project needs.
• Support project commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical issues and ensure system functionality.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and execution.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and technological advances in solar energy systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with local, national, and international safety, environmental, and quality standards, contributing to sustainable project development.
