We’re expanding our network and seeking experienced Sustainability Advisors (Freelance) to help clients design, implement, and scale their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies. Whether you’re supporting B Corp certification, carbon footprint reduction, or circular economy initiatives—you’ll bring deep expertise to teams ready to do business better.

This role is ideal for sustainability professionals who want to make a meaningful impact across a diverse range of industries and clients. If you’re passionate about ESG, systems thinking, and responsible innovation—and enjoy working independently in a strategic advisory capacity—this role gives you the freedom to do high-impact work on your terms. Perfect for independent consultants, fractional CSOs, or sustainability leads looking to guide growing organizations toward long-term, ethical growth.

Your responsibilities may include:

Assessing current sustainability practices and identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities
Developing and implementing ESG strategies tailored to industry and growth stage
Advising on carbon reduction, responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and energy efficiency
Supporting sustainability certifications (e.g., B Corp, LEED, ISO 14001, GRI)
Collaborating with operations, supply chain, and leadership to embed sustainable practices
Creating sustainability reports and dashboards for investors, boards, or internal stakeholders
Monitoring regulatory changes and advising on compliance and future-proofing
Supporting internal education and training around sustainability initiatives

Required qualities may include:

Proven experience in sustainability, ESG strategy, or environmental management
Proven ability to develop and implement sustainability frameworks across teams or organizations
Familiarity with sustainability certifications, reporting standards, and regulatory trends
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience working remotely or as a fractional consultant across multiple clients
Sector-specific knowledge (e.g., hospitality, fashion, tech, manufacturing) is a plus
Tools: Proficiency in ESG reporting platforms, data analysis tools, or carbon accounting software is preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED AP, GRI Standards, ISSP, SASB, or B Leader) are a strong plus
