HR Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Audit Manager to join its Head Office in Hyderabad. This role is pivotal in supporting the internal audit function, ensuring compliance, verifying payments, and reviewing procurement and site/plant reports. The ideal candidate will have strong auditing and documentation skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively between multiple departments including Accounts, Procurement, HR/Admin, Sites, and Plants. The position requires the manager to lead and manage a team of 8 persons, providing guidance and oversight to maintain high standards of audit quality and operational control. The Assistant Audit Manager will play a critical role in risk assessment and internal controls evaluation within the company. The position demands a sound understanding of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the use of audit software and advanced Excel tools. The candidate must be disciplined, responsible, and capable of conducting site visits as needed to verify financial and operational records. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to drive audit processes and address discrepancies effectively.
Responsibilities
 

  • Assist in planning and executing internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough verification of payments, bills, vouchers, and all supporting documents to maintain accuracy and prevent irregularities.
  • Review procurement processes, including purchase orders, goods receipt notes, and vendor records to ensure proper authorization and compliance.
  • Examine site and plant reports for accuracy and alignment with operational and financial standards.
  • Verify petty cash disbursements, site expenses, and payroll-related documents to ensure valid expenditures.
  • Identify discrepancies, irregularities, and missing documentation promptly and report findings for corrective action.
  • Prepare detailed audit observations and reports for management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Follow up on pending audit points and compliance issues to ensure timely resolution and mitigation of risks.
  • Coordinate regularly with Accounts, Procurement, Human Resources, Administration, Sites, and Plants to gather information and streamline audit activities.
  • Support physical verification of stock, machinery, and records during audits to confirm asset existence and condition.
  • Manage and lead a team of 8 audit personnel, providing mentorship, assigning tasks, and ensuring team efficiency and quality output.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and audit best practices to enhance audit processes.
  • Use audit software tools and advanced Excel functions to analyze financial data and generate insightful reports.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, ethical guidelines, and confidentiality requirements throughout audit activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to develop audit methodologies and increase operational effectiveness.
