Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Plant Controlling & Budgeting will be responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and performance monitoring across manufacturing operations. The role will partner with Production, Technical Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and Engineering teams to ensure effective budget management, optimize operational costs, monitor financial performance, and support informed decision-making through timely analysis and reporting.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting exercises, periodic forecasts, and rolling outlooks for Production, Technical Operations, and assigned support functions.
• Monitor departmental budgets and control operating expenses including manpower, utilities, maintenance, engineering, repairs, spare parts, consumables, and manufacturing overheads.
• Perform budget-versus-actual and forecast-versus-actual analyses, investigate variances, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor material procurement expenditure, purchase price fluctuations, and raw and packaging material costs against approved budgets.
• Track inventory-related expenditure including warehousing, freight, transportation, and other Supply Chain and Logistics costs.
• Review inventory levels, aging, slow-moving and obsolete stock, and assess financial impact, provisions, and write-offs.
• Monitor budget utilization for QC, QA, Validation, and Regulatory functions, ensuring alignment with approved plans and compliance requirements.
• Monitor Plant & Machinery CAPEX budgets, project commitments, forecast-to-complete positions, and support post-implementation financial reviews.
• Evaluate the financial impact of production plans, capacity utilization, maintenance activities, and operational expenditure on plant performance.
• Develop and maintain cost center review reports, budget trackers, variance analysis reports, and cost-saving initiative trackers.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen financial controls, budget discipline, and resource planning.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CIMA will be preferred.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in Plant Controlling, Budgeting, Cost Accounting, FP&A, or Manufacturing Finance.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost management, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation abilities.
