POSITION SUMMARY
The Athena One Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Intracare's clinical operations by managing and optimizing the Athena Health (athenaOne) electronic health record (EHR) platform. This position serves as the primary resource for system configuration, end-user support, workflow optimization, and data integrity within athenaOne. The Athena One Specialist works closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure the EHR system aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EHR System Management
Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the athenaOne EHR platform.
Configure, maintain, and update system settings, templates, workflows, and user permissions.
Monitor system performance and coordinate with Athena Health support to resolve technical issues.
Perform routine audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance within the system.
User Support & Training
Provide day-to-day end-user support and troubleshoot issues related to athenaOne.
Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing staff on athenaOne features and workflows.
Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Workflow Optimization
Analyze existing clinical and administrative workflows and identify opportunities for improvement within athenaOne.
Collaborate with clinical leadership and staff to design and implement streamlined processes.
Support the deployment of new athenaOne features and system updates.
Reporting & Compliance
Generate and distribute scheduled and ad hoc reports to support operational and clinical decision-making.
Ensure system configurations and workflows comply with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational policies.
Assist with audit preparation and documentation as it relates to the EHR system.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with cross-functional teams including clinical staff, billing, and IT to support integrated operations.
Communicate system changes, downtime, and updates to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
Escalate complex issues to Adrienne Armenta, Athena Administrator, and/or vendor support as appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with AthenaOne (athenaHealth) EHR platform required.
Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting strongly preferred.
Previous experience in system administration, training, or workflow optimization is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in AthenaOne system configuration, reporting, and user management.
Strong understanding of clinical workflows in a physician practice or healthcare organization.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
