The Head of PPMC will be responsible for leading production planning and material control activities, ensuring optimum production schedules, timely material availability, and effective inventory management. The role will oversee demand and capacity planning, monitor production and material performance, coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and drive improvements to ensure uninterrupted production and efficient supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage production plans and schedules based on demand and plant capacity.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and CKD/SKD kits to avoid production stoppages.
• Manage MRP, material requirements, inventory levels, safety stock, and material shortages.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Suppliers, Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Logistics for smooth material flow
• Monitor production plan vs. actual output, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct capacity planning and support manpower, shift, and production requirements.
• Control WIP, finished goods, excess/obsolete inventory, and optimize working capital.
• Ensure accurate BOM, material master, production orders, and ERP/SAP transactions.
• Monitor PPMC KPIs including plan achievement, material availability, inventory turnover, supplier delivery, and line stoppages.
• Lead and develop the PPMC team and drive continuous improvement and cost optimization.
• Support new model/product launches, localization, and engineering changes from a planning and material perspective.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s/MBA in Supply Chain or Operations Management will be an added advantage.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in Production Planning, Material Control, Supply Chain, PPMC, preferably in the automobile/2-wheeler manufacturing industry.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial/head role leading PPMC functions
• Strong knowledge of SAP, MRP, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
• Hands-on experience in production scheduling, MRP, BOM management, material planning, inventory control, capacity planning, and supplier coordination.
