Inventory Planning Manager

Job Description:

Inventory Planning Manager is responsible for maximizing inventory turnover, revenue, and customer conversion rates across both physical retail stores and e-commerce platforms. This role ensures optimal product availability, executes daily data-driven stock transfers, manages fast-paced weekly design launches, and prevents stagnant displays by maintaining a fresh visual presentation across all sales channels.

Key Responsibilities:

1-Daily Sales & Category Performance Analysis

  • Track daily sales velocity, sell-through rates, and category performance across all retail outlets and e-commerce.
  • Identify top-performing categories per store, as well as dead-stock or slow-moving items at specific locations.
  • Monitor store conversion rates and identify inventory gaps contributing to missed sales opportunities.

2. Dynamic Inventory Allocation & Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT)

  • Plan and execute daily/weekly Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT) to move slow-moving stock to high-demand outlets.
  • Recall non-performing inventory back to the central warehouse/Head Office for immediate reallocation to e-commerce fulfillment.
  • Maintain balanced inventory levels between Tier 1 (large display & backroom) and Tier 2 (compact display & small backroom) stores.
  • Enforce strict stock caps for Tier 2 stores (e.g., maintaining full size runs at 1 piece per size) to maximize design variety without clogging backrooms.

3. Weekly Launch & Drop Execution

  • Manage stock allocation and dispatch for fast-turnaround weekly releases (5–10+ new designs per week).
  • Ensure new launches hit store floors and e-commerce platforms simultaneously.
  • Rotate existing floor displays systematically to keep retail presentation fresh and dynamic for returning customers.

4. Omnichannel Integration & Revenue Optimization

  • Actively bridge retail store stock with e-commerce demand to minimize stockouts on fast-selling online items.
  • Partner with store managers to collect qualitative floor feedback regarding sizing, display constraints, and customer demand trends.
  • Report Daily, weekly and monthly on overall inventory turnover, sell-through rates, transfer efficiencies, and overall platform revenue impact.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2–4 years in retail inventory allocation, merchandise planning, or retail operations (fashion/apparel/fast-moving soft goods preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling) and ERP/POS systems (e.g., GTECH, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Shopify, or similar retail POS/inventory management tools).
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong capability to analyze large datasets daily and convert findings into swift execution plans.
  • Operations Understanding: Understanding of retail visual merchandising constraints, store capacities, and e-commerce fulfillment logic.
  • Communication: Clear coordination skills to work seamlessly with warehouse dispatchers, e-commerce leads, and retail store managers.
