Our client Universal Label is looking for a Label Designer & Prepress Specialist in Karachi

Universal Label is seeking a creative and technically proficient Prepress & Label Designer to join our label printing operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in preparing print-ready artwork files, recreating customer sample designs accurately, and ensuring that all designs meet stringent technical specifications for label printing. This role requires detailed knowledge of prepress processes, packaging design principles, and file preparation and proofing standards to guarantee high-quality production outputs. The candidate will also take an active role in coordinating with external vendors for plate-making and die outsourcing, ensuring timely receipt and correct specifications.

As a Prepress & Label Designer at Universal Label, you will manage a team of 10 persons, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth flow of print production workflows. Your Responsibilities

will encompass overseeing file finalization, quality assurance, troubleshooting artwork-related production challenges, and maintaining design standards. The position demands strong attention to detail, exceptional time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines within a dynamic and fast-paced printing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, print-ready artwork files for label printing operations, ensuring all technical specifications such as dimensions, colors, bleeds, and resolution meet production requirements.
• Recreate label designs based on customer-provided samples, images, or instructions, modifying existing designs to comply with client needs and standards.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with plate-making and die-making vendors to outsource and track the timely delivery of printing plates and dies.
• Conduct thorough file checks and proofing before sending designs for print to prevent errors and guarantee high-quality output.
• Maintain and uphold design quality standards throughout the production process to ensure printed labels meet customer and company expectations.
• Lead and manage a team of 10 design and prepress staff, fostering collaboration and ensuring adherence to timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Assist the production team by resolving artwork-related issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain workflow continuity.
• Utilize key graphic design software including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and CorelDRAW to prepare and edit artwork files.
• Stay informed of industry best practices, particularly in flexographic printing processes, to continually enhance design and production quality.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring consistent achievement of deadlines under pressure.
