Job Description

EFU Life Assurance Ltd. seeks an experienced Manager - Research to lead and drive our research initiatives with a strong focus on market and financial analysis. The successful candidate will develop macroeconomic forecasts, create and refine investment strategies, and guide decision-making processes through detailed financial modeling and forecasting techniques. This role demands a versatile researcher who will conduct in-depth feasibility assessments on corporate debt and fixed-income proposals, ensuring recommendations align with the companys strategic investment objectives. The Manager will actively engage with company management, industry professionals, and other stakeholders to gather essential market intelligence and insights, enhancing the overall quality of research outputs. In addition to managing a team of two research professionals, the Manager - Research will foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance through mentorship and thorough review of team deliverables. This role encompasses overseeing stock coverage, managing ad hoc research projects, and contributing to special initiatives that strengthen EFU Life Assurance Ltd.'s research capabilities. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of relevant experience, demonstrates exceptional leadership skills, and excels at driving complex financial and market research while effectively collaborating across departments.
Responsibilities
 

  • Develop comprehensive macroeconomic forecasts and apply forecasting techniques to support investment strategy formulation.
  • Build, review, and refine detailed financial models and valuations for both equity and fixed-income instruments.
  • Conduct rigorous feasibility assessments of corporate debt and fixed-income proposals, providing well-reasoned investment recommendations.
  • Engage proactively with company management, industry experts, and stakeholders to gather market intelligence and enhance research quality.
  • Lead and supervise a team of two research professionals, providing mentorship, oversight, and performance feedback to ensure quality analytical outputs.
  • Oversee ongoing stock coverage responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Manage and execute ad hoc research assignments and special projects that contribute to the advancement of the companys research functions.
  • Utilize advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, financial forecasting, and research methodologies to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align research activities with organizational goals and investment objectives.
  • Maintain a proactive and flexible approach to handling diverse research activities and evolving business needs.
  • Ensure all research outputs adhere to high standards, are well-documented, and support sound decision-making processes.
  • Continuously update knowledge of market trends, investment strategies, and financial models to maintain research relevance and accuracy.
