Network Administrator

This position is located at East Wharf, Keamari, Karachi Port, Karachi, and operates on a rotational shift schedule. The role involves providing advanced support and maintenance for the company’s network and application systems. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensure optimal application performance, and guide junior support staff. A proactive approach is essential to maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure while supporting business continuity and security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure, including Cisco devices and firewalls. Plan for capacity, optimize performance, and prepare for future technology upgrades. Oversee daily operations of LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, VPN, and cloud connectivity to ensure seamless network functionality.

Monitor network performance, availability, and security using Network Management Systems (NMS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools. Troubleshoot complex network issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.

Manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) and lead incident response processes, including monitoring, detection, investigation, and response to security threats. Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are established, maintained, and regularly tested to safeguard critical systems.

Develop and enforce policies related to access control, privileged account management, and authentication. Evaluate and implement security technologies such as SIEM, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in security architecture and controls. Manage team administration, including discipline, attendance, break schedules, overtime, leave policies, and dress code adherence.

Monitor and manage individual and team performance to ensure accountability and consistent results. Facilitate ongoing training and development opportunities for both self and team members, providing mentorship to junior staff.

Ensure compliance with Quality, Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Promote a culture of motivation, engagement, and well-being within the team. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to build team capabilities and deliver quality outcomes.

Assist leadership by supplying relevant information, data, and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Computer Science or a related field is required. Candidates should have 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in network and security operations. Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is essential. Willingness to work in rotational shifts is mandatory.
