Job Description

Fulcrum Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Head of Plant Maintenance Consultant to join their manufacturing facility in Port Qasim, Karachi. This contractual role demands a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in maintenance strategy development, project management, mechanical plant maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance. The primary objective is to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and drive effective maintenance practices tailored to the fast-paced manufacturing environment, particularly within industries such as fast-moving consumer goods, textiles, cement, and pharmaceuticals. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing critical maintenance functions, ensuring operational efficiency, and guiding a dedicated team through maintenance improvements. The appointed consultant will take full ownership of maintenance strategy execution, leading initiatives that improve overall equipment effectiveness and streamline maintenance workflows. With a required minimum of 17 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, the candidate must demonstrate a solid track record of implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and spearheading maintenance transformation projects. This leadership role includes mentoring a small, focused team, optimizing spare parts management, and supporting the integration of computerized maintenance management systems to track and analyze key performance indicators. The person will play a critical role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement in plant maintenance to support the company's growth and production goals.
Responsibilities
 

• Develop, evaluate, and continually enhance maintenance systems and procedures to improve plant reliability and operational efficiency.
• Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
• Lead initiatives to increase equipment uptime and overall equipment effectiveness through focused maintenance activities and process improvements.
• Manage root cause analysis processes to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues, driving long-term reliability improvements.
• Optimize spare parts inventory to ensure availability while minimizing cost and storage needs, aligning procurement with maintenance schedules.
• Support the deployment and effective use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, asset performance, and key maintenance metrics.
• Mentor, guide, and supervise a dedicated maintenance team, fostering professional growth and encouraging best maintenance practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and engineering to align maintenance strategies with operational goals.
• Oversee maintenance project management efforts ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance initiatives and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards within all maintenance operations.
• Monitor industry trends and incorporate latest maintenance technologies and reliability practices to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Drive continuous improvement culture by identifying opportunities for innovation in maintenance processes and leveraging data-driven decision making.
