Assistant Manager - Agriculture

Job Description

KH Group is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager - Agriculture to support and oversee the daily agricultural operations of large-scale farming activities. The role requires applying specialist knowledge in crop management, soil analysis, pest control, and agricultural planning to ensure optimal productivity from land preparation through to harvest. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with agronomists and consultants to maintain crop health and improve yields using integrated pest management practices. This position is essential for monitoring and managing supply chain coordination and inventory relevant to farming inputs, thereby ensuring timely resource availability and efficient farm operations. As a vital leadership position, the Assistant Manager supervises a team of 10 persons, managing field operations, irrigation systems, farm infrastructure, and labor resources. The individual contributes to planning and executing agricultural activities aligned with company standards and production schedules. Accurate reporting on crop progress, input utilization, irrigation, and harvest status is crucial. This role combines technical expertise and team leadership to promote sustainable farming practices and drive continuous improvement in agricultural outcomes.
Responsibilities
 

• Assist in planning and supervising comprehensive agricultural operations including land preparation, sowing, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, harvesting, and post-harvest activities to meet production goals.
• Conduct frequent field visits to monitor crop growth and overall farm conditions, making timely recommendations for improvements and corrective actions.
• Monitor adherence to company farming practices and production schedules to maintain compliance and optimize yields.
• Collaborate with agronomists and agricultural consultants to diagnose crop health issues and implement recommendations to enhance crop performance.
• Implement and oversee integrated pest and disease management programs to reduce crop damage and ensure sustainable pest control.
• Oversee irrigation schedules and systems, ensuring efficient water utilization and maintenance of farm infrastructure such as roads, drainage channels, and irrigation equipment.
• Ensure proper land leveling and field preparation before planting to maximize crop establishment and growth.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of 10 field staff, providing guidance on agricultural tasks and maintaining labor productivity.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for farming inputs and equipment, conducting regular verifications and reporting discrepancies promptly.
• Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other critical inputs to prevent operational delays.
• Collect and consolidate daily reports from field supervisors and staff to monitor field activities, crop progress, input consumption, irrigation scheduling, harvest status, labor usage, and machinery deployment.
• Prepare and submit detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports that provide visibility into farm operations, resource utilization, and production outcomes to support management decision-making.
