Job Description

Apex Software is looking for a skilled PHP Developer with strong expertise in backend development and a solid understanding of web application architecture. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of practical experience working with the PHP language and the Laravel framework to develop and maintain high-quality web applications. This role requires proficiency in core web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as experience with RESTful APIs and MVC architecture. Familiarity with database management using MySQL, version control systems like GitHub and GitLab, and object-oriented programming principles is essential. Candidates should also have knowledge of front-end frameworks including Bootstrap, jQuery, or Vue.js, which complements backend responsibilities. The PHP Developer at Apex Software works within an Agile team environment, focusing on writing clean, maintainable code and implementing secure, optimized solutions. This position requires a thorough understanding of authentication, authorization mechanisms, and web security best practices to safeguard application integrity. While this role does not involve managing a team, strong collaboration skills and problem-solving abilities are vital to successfully delivering robust software projects on schedule. Additional experience with API integrations, third-party services, and deployment on Linux servers is highly advantageous, enhancing the developers ability to contribute across the full development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
 

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Implement and manage RESTful APIs to facilitate data exchange between services and front-end components.
• Design and optimize MySQL database schemas to improve query performance and data integrity.
• Apply MVC architecture and Eloquent ORM for organized and efficient code development.
• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code following best software development practices.
• Collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using Bootstrap, jQuery, or Vue.js.
• Utilize GitHub and GitLab for version control and code repository management, ensuring consistent codebase updates.
• Enforce web security best practices including authentication, authorization, and protection against common vulnerabilities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of features.
• Perform thorough debugging and problem-solving to quickly resolve issues and improve application stability.
• Assist with deployment processes, including configuring applications on Linux servers and maintaining environments.
• Work with third-party APIs and services to extend application functionalities as required.
• Continuously review existing code and identify areas for improvement, optimization, and refactoring.
• Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to innovate and improve development processes.
