Role Description The Biomedical Engineer (Ultrasound) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Karachi. The role involves installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of ultrasound equipment in hospitals and healthcare facilities, ensuring that systems meet performance and safety standards. The engineer will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime and maintain reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include conducting technical assessments, documenting service activities, coordinating with clinical staff to understand user needs, and providing basic user training and support. The role also requires collaboration with manufacturers and internal teams for technical guidance, adherence to regulatory and safety guidelines, and participation in continuous improvement of service procedures.

Customer Success Engineer – Ultrasound Team
1. Position Details
Department: Ultrasound Division
Designation: Customer Success Engineer
Reporting To: Service Manager / Department Head
Location: Karachi
2. Role Purpose
The Customer Success Engineer – Ultrasound Team shall be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of ultrasound imaging systems. The role requires ensuring optimal system functionality, imaging accuracy, and uninterrupted clinical operation at customer sites.
The position involves direct interaction with clinical users and requires a high standard of technical competency, professionalism, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
3. Scope of Work
The Customer Success Engineer shall perform duties including, but not limited to, the following:
3.1 Installation & Commissioning
Carry out installation, configuration, and commissioning of ultrasound systems in accordance with company and OEM standards
Verify site readiness including electrical, environmental, and operational requirements
Perform system testing, calibration, and validation prior to handover
Ensure proper documentation and customer sign-off upon completion
3.2 Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve system-level faults including hardware, software, and signal-related issues
Identify and rectify imaging-related problems including artefacts, resolution degradation, and performance inconsistencies
Troubleshoot and manage probe/transducer-related issues including cable faults, element failures, and connector damage
Escalate complex technical issues to principals/OEMs as required
3.3 Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Execute preventive maintenance in accordance with defined schedules and OEM guidelines
Perform system diagnostics, calibration checks, and performance verification
Conduct corrective maintenance to restore system functionality with minimal downtime
Ensure continuous operational readiness of all assigned equipment
3.4 Clinical & Customer Support
Provide technical support to radiologists, sonographers, and hospital staff
Communicate technical issues and resolutions in a clear and professional manner
Deliver basic operational guidance and user training where required
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and effective service delivery
3.5 Documentation & Reporting
Accurately record all service activities, complaints, and resolutions in the company CRM/Slack systems
Maintain installation reports, preventive maintenance records, and service logs
Track probe history, repairs, and replacements where applicable
Ensure timely submission of all required documentation
3.6 Coordination & Operational Support
Coordinate with internal teams for planning and execution of installations and service activities
Liaise with principals/OEMs for technical support, spare parts, and updates
Assist in preparation and execution of preventive maintenance schedules
Support departmental objectives and operational requirements as assigned
4. Key Competencies & Skills
Strong understanding of ultrasound systems, imaging principles, and electronics
Proficiency in system-level troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
Ability to identify and resolve imaging quality issues
Effective communication and customer handling skills
Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
5. Qualification & Experience
Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering
5 & above years of experience.
