Cost Accountant

American Safety & Power Tool (ASPT), a leading manufacturer and distributor of industrial workwear and power tools located in Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi, is looking to hire a skilled Cost Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting costs to improve efficiency and profitability within the manufacturing and distribution operations. This role demands a detail-oriented professional capable of delivering accurate cost insights and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Costing: Perform comprehensive pre-costing for new products and conduct precise post-costing analysis for existing product lines to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Variance Analysis: Analyze material, labor, and factory overhead (FOH) variances in detail, identifying discrepancies and providing clear explanations for any differences.
Cost Controlling: Develop and implement effective cost control strategies to uncover cost-saving opportunities and enhance overall profitability.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs, ensuring they align with the company’s financial objectives.
Management Reporting: Prepare detailed product-wise profit and loss statements to evaluate the profitability of individual SKUs and product lines, aiding management in making informed decisions.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation processes and reconcile physical stock counts with financial records to maintain accuracy and integrity in reporting.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing or distribution environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CA Intermediate, ACCA, or CMA (Part Qualified/Finalist) are highly desirable.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at ASPT’s Karachi facility. The monthly salary range for this role is Rs150,000 to Rs175,000, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
