About the job
We need someone to design the world under spaces.
Lehr is launching a new venture in Pakistan. We are looking for an Exhibition Director.
This is not an event management job. This is a creative leadership role for someone who thinks in atmospheres, cares deeply about culture, and can translate a vision into something people will remember for years.
You will work directly with the Founder and over a dozen international cultural ambassadors to design an exhibition that is curated, meaningful, and memorable.
If you have designed experiences that made people feel something — and you want to do the most significant work of your career — we want to hear from you.
This position is open to anyone from anywhere in the world.
The Role
The Exhibition Director is the creative and strategic owner of the International Culture Exhibition — from vision to physical reality. You design how this feels, how it flows, and how it is remembered. You are not a manager of operations. You are the architect of the experience.
You will take the vision framework established by the Founder, integrate the input of 15 Culture Ambassadors, and translate it into an exhibition that is aesthetically exceptional, culturally respectful, and logistically coherent.
The Team Manager handles everything operational. Your attention must remain on the vision, the experience design, and the quality of what we produce.
Core Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end creative direction of the exhibition — decor, themes, venue layout, atmosphere, financial model, and cultural narrative for each of the international exhibits.
Collaborate with the Founder and Cultural Ambassadors at the Vision Meeting to finalise the exhibition plan, ensuring each cultural ambassador's voice is heard and integrated.
Lead all aesthetic and experience-related decisions: exhibit design standards, visitor flow, sensory journey, opening and closing ceremony design.
Brief and guide the broader team on the creative vision, ensuring consistency across all materials, spaces, and communications.
Work with the Community Builder on the visual and narrative identity of the exhibition's public-facing presence.
Ensure the exhibition experience is highly curated, culturally sensitive, and genuinely memorable — befitting the significance of the occasion.
What We are Looking For
You have designed, curated, or directed events, exhibitions, or cultural experiences — and you can point to something that made people feel something.
You think in atmospheres, not checklists. You understand that the right lighting in the right room changes how food tastes.
You have genuine curiosity about diverse cultures — food, design, people, and the meaning behind them.
You are decisive under ambiguity and lead with a clear point of view rather than waiting for consensus.
You can work both top-down (from vision to detail) and bottom-up (from a visitor's moment of experience to what produced it).
You understand the weight of what you are building — that this exhibition carries meaning beyond its business case.
This is a hybrid, performative objective role based in Karachi, offering flexibility for remote work. This is not a lifestyle fund role. You own the success and setbacks. You own your own compensation and rewards. You will get a team and leadership to support you.
The role starts as a contractor. It is not a traditional 9-5 job. You design and build the model that transforms the vision into outcomes by driving.
The Exhibition Director will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of exhibitions and events. Responsibilities include managing budgets, leading exhibit design processes, planning events, devising strategic plans to achieve project goals, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to drive event success.
Profile We are Looking for
Proficiency in Budgeting and financial management specific to exhibitions and events
Expertise in Exhibit Design and experience developing innovative concepts for events
Strong skills in stakeholder engagement to facilitate partnerships
Be the face of the exhibition in all key public facing events and ceremonies
Event Planning capabilities, including logistics coordination and vendor management through the Team Manager and Exhibition Coordinator
Strategic Planning abilities to establish clear event objectives and execute on long-term goals
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Ability to thrive in a hybrid working environment and manage geographically dispersed teams
Prior experience in exhibition or event management is highly desirable
To Apply: Submit your application on Linkedin. Your application will go through: a screening round, a competency evaluation round, an initial video interview, an offer, a test demonstration, a final interview, and onboarding.
During the Competency Evaluation Round you will be required to:
Submit a short vision concept (a deck): How would you approach the atmosphere and design of an exhibition representing 15 cultures under one roof in Karachi? What would make a first-time visitor feel that the world genuinely arrived to meet them?
Make it yours. We are not looking for the right answer. We are looking for the right person.
