Freight Forwarding Trainee (Night Shift) - Entry Level Role

Marlin Shipping is looking for motivated and self-driven individuals to join our team as Freight Operations Assistants. This full-time, on-site position is based in Karachi (Gulistan e Jouhar) and requires working night shifts from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Key Responsibilities
Manage shared mailboxes to prioritize and efficiently oversee incoming shipment updates. Maintain organized and up-to-date digital archives of all shipping documents. Respond promptly to client and carrier inquiries regarding shipment status or documentation. Assist in preparing routine operational reports such as shipment trackers, pending document summaries, and estimated time of arrival (ETA) updates. Accurately input and maintain shipment data in internal systems and spreadsheets, ensuring updates on container movements, ETAs, proof of deliveries (PODs), and delivery confirmations. Monitor in-transit shipments using carrier portals and internal tracking tools, identifying and reporting delays, exceptions, or discrepancies to the operations team for timely resolution. Prepare, verify, and process essential shipping documents including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Required Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks is essential. Effective written communication skills, especially in email correspondence, are required. Candidates must be able to work independently, including in remote environments if necessary. Proficiency with spreadsheets, Microsoft Excel, PDFs, and cloud-based file management systems is expected. Strong spoken English skills are mandatory. Candidates must be willing and available to work night shifts regularly.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Preference will be given to candidates currently enrolled in or graduated from a Supply Chain discipline. The role offers a competitive stipend ranging from Rs30,000 to Rs35,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s soft skills and adaptability to night shift hours.
