ABOUT ACTED PAKISTAN:
ACTED is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to principles of non-discrimination and transparency. ACTED has been present in Pakistan since 1993 and currently supports communities in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, and Azad Jammu Kashmir. ACTED's strategy targets vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.
Assignment:
The International Social Development Specialist will provide technical leadership and oversight on social development aspects of the assignment, with particular emphasis on gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), poverty and vulnerability, and community‑based adaptation. The Specialist will contribute to analytical work on social, gender, and institutional issues, ensuring that findings are grounded in country and regional contexts, including experience in Pakistan or similar environments. The role will support the integration of inclusive, participatory, and socially responsive approaches into project design, implementation, and monitoring.
The Specialist will be responsible for quality assurance of all social development–related outputs, including assessments, studies, and reports, ensuring alignment with applicable safeguards, policies, and good international practice. The position will also support capacity building of project teams, implementing partners, and stakeholders through technical guidance, mentoring, and training, as required. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Specialist will contribute to timely delivery of high‑quality outputs and clear, accurate, and well‑structured reporting for stakeholders.
