About the job
Experience Level: 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience
Type: Full-time
Field-Based (Standard 8–9-hour shift) Location: Karachi Department: Medical Services Reports to: Manager – Medical Research & Clinical Quality Expected Field Visits: Minimum 30 home visits per month
About The Role
At Mohsyn, our promise is simple: when our clients can’t be there for their families in Pakistan, we can.
And when it comes to the health and wellbeing of those families, few roles are as important as the doctor who walks through their door.
We’re looking for a Medical Doctor – Home Care Services to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based medical care to Mohsyn clients in the comfort of their homes across Karachi.
This is not a traditional hospital or clinic-based role.
You’ll visit clients in their homes, conduct comprehensive medical assessments, diagnose and manage health conditions, provide treatment and preventive care, and help patients and their families make informed decisions about their health.
But your responsibility doesn't end when the consultation does.
You'll identify additional care needs, coordinate investigations, follow up on results, maintain accurate medical records, communicate with families, and work closely with Mohsyn’s care and coordination teams to ensure that recommended actions translate into actual care.
Many of the people we care for are elderly, often with children living thousands of miles away. That means your role goes beyond diagnosis and prescriptions.
You’ll need to understand the person behind the medical condition — their lifestyle, home environment, emotional wellbeing, family circumstances, and the challenges they may face in managing their health independently.
Reporting to the Manager – Medical Research & Clinical Quality, you'll also play an important role in maintaining accurate medical records, identifying changes in client health, and contributing to Mohsyn’s growing clinical knowledge base.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong clinical judgement with empathy, professionalism, and a genuine passion for caring for people.
Because at Mohsyn, a good doctor doesn't simply treat a patient.
They help ensure that the right care happens, at the right time, and that the entire family knows their loved one is in dependable hands.
What You’ll Do
Home-Based Medical Care
Conduct scheduled and need-based medical consultations at Mohsyn clients’ homes across Karachi.
Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, including medical history, physical examination, review of symptoms, and evaluation of relevant health risks.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within your professional scope and Mohsyn’s clinical protocols.
Develop personalised, evidence-based treatment and follow-up plans that account for each client’s medical condition, age, lifestyle, and home environment.
Prescribe appropriate medications and explain their purpose, dosage, administration, precautions, and potential side effects.
Assess the effectiveness of existing treatment plans and recommend appropriate adjustments when clinically indicated.
Provide preventive healthcare guidance, including recommendations related to lifestyle, nutrition, medication adherence, disease prevention, and long-term wellness.
Deliver a minimum of 30 home visits per month, while maintaining Mohsyn’s standards for clinical quality, documentation, and patient experience.
Additional Care Needs & Continuity of Care
Identify additional care requirements during home visits, including nursing, physiotherapy, psychological support, specialist consultations, rehabilitation, or other relevant interventions.
Recommend appropriate services based on the patient’s clinical condition, functional abilities, emotional wellbeing, and overall care requirements.
Coordinate with Mohsyn’s care and coordination centre to initiate recommended interventions and ensure appropriate follow-through.
Monitor whether recommended services and interventions have been arranged and flag delays, gaps, or unresolved care requirements.
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive coordinated care rather than isolated medical consultations.
Recognise opportunities for early intervention, particularly among elderly clients and individuals living with chronic conditions.
Lab Booking, Investigations & Follow-Up
Recommend appropriate laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests based on clinical findings.
Coordinate with Mohsyn’s care and coordination centre to ensure lab bookings, sample collection, diagnostic appointments, and other investigations are arranged in a timely manner.
Clearly communicate the purpose of recommended investigations and any relevant preparation requirements to patients and their families.
Follow up on pending investigations and ensure results are received, reviewed, and appropriately recorded.
Identify and escalate abnormal or clinically significant findings in accordance with Mohsyn’s clinical protocols.
Communicate investigation outcomes and recommended next steps to the patient and relevant family members.
Ensure investigations lead to appropriate clinical action rather than remaining pending or unaddressed.
Patient & Family Communication
Explain medical findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and recommendations in clear, understandable language.
Provide timely updates to patients and their families after each home visit, particularly overseas family members who rely on Mohsyn for visibility into their loved ones’ health.
Communicate relevant clinical findings, changes in condition, prescribed treatments, recommended investigations, additional care requirements, and follow-up plans.
Ensure family communication is clear, reassuring, and medically accurate, while respecting patient consent and confidentiality.
Educate patients and caregivers on medication adherence, disease management, preventive care, nutrition, and healthy living.
Respond with empathy and patience when patients or family members are worried, confused, or emotionally distressed.
Ensure clients and families understand what happens next, who is coordinating it, and whether any action is required from their side.
HMS Usage & Clinical Documentation
Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation in Mohsyn’s Hospital Management System (HMS) following every home visit.
Record clinical assessments, relevant findings, diagnoses, prescribed medications, treatment plans, recommended investigations, referrals, and follow-up requirements.
Document additional care needs and any actions requiring coordination with other Mohsyn teams.
Update client records as investigation results become available or new clinical information emerges.
Ensure medical records clearly reflect what was identified, what was recommended, what action was initiated, and what follow-up remains pending.
Maintain documentation in accordance with the standards established by Mohsyn’s Medical Research & Clinical Quality function.
Contribute to structured longitudinal medical records that help Mohsyn understand each client’s health and care requirements over time.
Care Centre & Multidisciplinary Coordination
Collaborate closely with Mohsyn’s care and coordination centre, on-call doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, Key Account Managers, Solutions Analysts, and Field Support Officers.
Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure scheduled visits, recommended investigations, additional care services, and follow-up requirements are appropriately managed.
Provide timely clinical handovers to on-call doctors when a patient requires continued medical attention beyond the field doctor’s scheduled shift.
Communicate relevant clinical observations, changes in patient condition, and pending actions to the appropriate team members.
Ensure continuity of care by providing clear information about unresolved medical concerns and recommended next steps.
Attend assigned home visits punctually and communicate scheduling changes or delays to the coordination centre.
Emergency Escalation & Hospital Coordination
Identify medical emergencies and clinical red flags requiring urgent intervention, hospital assessment, or transfer.
Initiate emergency escalation and hospital coordination in accordance with Mohsyn’s established clinical and transfer protocols.
Coordinate with the care and coordination centre, on-call doctors, ambulance providers, and receiving hospitals as required.
Provide relevant clinical information to support safe and timely patient transfer and continuity of care.
Keep the patient’s family and relevant Mohsyn teams appropriately updated throughout an emergency or hospital-transfer situation.
Ensure emergency-related decisions, interventions, referrals, and handovers are accurately documented in HMS.
Remain calm, decisive, and professionally accountable during urgent and medically complex situations.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
MBBS from a recognised medical institution with valid Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) registration.
3–5 years of relevant clinical experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Primary Care, Home Healthcare, or a related clinical setting.
Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to conduct comprehensive medical assessments independently.
Sound clinical reasoning and confidence in making evidence-based treatment decisions.
Experience managing common acute and chronic medical conditions.
Ability to recognise clinical red flags and make appropriate referral or escalation decisions.
Strong understanding of preventive healthcare, medication management, and patient education.
Exceptional empathy, emotional intelligence, and bedside manner.
Comfortable interacting with elderly patients and individuals who may require additional patience, reassurance, or support.
Excellent spoken Urdu and good spoken English.
Ability to explain medical information clearly to patients, caregivers, and family members from different backgrounds.
Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort using HMS or electronic medical record systems.
Ability to coordinate investigations, referrals, and additional care requirements while maintaining accountability for appropriate follow-through.
Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare and operational teams.
High levels of integrity, accountability, ethical practice, and respect for patient confidentiality.
Comfortable providing independent medical care in home-based environments.
Willingness to travel extensively across Karachi and conduct a minimum of 30 home visits per month.
Ability to manage transportation independently for assigned home visits.
Comfortable working a standard 8–9-hour full-time shift.
Nice to Have
Previous experience in home healthcare, family medicine, primary care, or community-based medical services.
Experience providing care to elderly patients or individuals living with multiple chronic conditions.
Exposure to geriatric medicine, chronic disease management, rehabilitation, or preventive healthcare.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary care involving nursing, physiotherapy, psychological support, and other interventions.
Experience using electronic medical records or hospital management systems.
Experience communicating with patients’ family members who live abroad.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications, certifications, or additional training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, or Primary Care.
A valid driving licence and personal transportation.
Education & Professional Qualification
MBBS from a recognised medical institution.
Valid Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) registration is mandatory.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications, certifications, or additional clinical training would be considered an advantage.
For this role, however, clinical qualifications are only one part of what makes someone successful.
We’re looking for a doctor who combines medical knowledge, sound judgement, empathy, and the ability to make patients feel genuinely cared for.
The Kind of Person Who’ll Thrive Here
Compassionate. Clinically confident. Emotionally intelligent. Calm under pressure. Patient. Professional. Trustworthy. Proactive.
You’re the kind of doctor who sees the patient, not just the diagnosis.
You understand that an elderly person may need a little more time to explain what they’re experiencing.
You recognise that a family member living abroad may need reassurance, clarity, and confidence in the care being provided.
You don't rush through a consultation simply because the immediate medical concern has been addressed.
You ask questions, listen carefully, observe the environment, and think about the bigger picture.
And when something doesn't seem right, you take responsibility for ensuring it receives the appropriate clinical attention.
Most importantly, you believe that good medicine is not only about treating illness, but also about ensuring the right care continues after the consultation ends.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, we’d expect you to consistently:
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical care across assigned home visits.
Complete a minimum of 30 home visits per month, subject to client scheduling and operational requirements.
Build trusted relationships with patients, caregivers, and their families.
Maintain high levels of patient and family satisfaction through compassionate and professional care.
Identify additional care needs and ensure appropriate coordination and follow-through.
Ensure recommended laboratory investigations are arranged, results are reviewed, and clinically significant findings are appropriately escalated.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits, findings, and follow-ups in HMS.
Provide timely family updates following every home visit, particularly for overseas families.
Coordinate effectively with the care and coordination centre, on-call doctors, and Mohsyn’s multidisciplinary care team.
Demonstrate sound clinical judgement and follow established escalation and transfer protocols during emergencies.
Contribute to improving clinical reporting standards, care protocols, and the quality of Mohsyn’s medical knowledge.
Consistently uphold Mohsyn’s commitment to personalised, holistic, and dependable home healthcare.
Why Join Us
As a Medical Doctor at Mohsyn, you'll have the opportunity to practise medicine in a way that brings you closer to the people you're caring for.
You'll meet patients in their homes. You'll see the environments they live in, understand the routines they follow, meet the people who care for them, and gain a more complete understanding of the circumstances that shape their health.
For many of our clients, particularly the elderly, that kind of personalised medical attention can make an enormous difference.
But perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of this role is the opportunity to make a very human kind of difference.
Many of the people we care for have children living thousands of miles away.
Those children may have built their lives in another country, but some of their biggest worries remain back home.
Is my father taking his medication properly?
Has my mother been feeling weaker lately?
Does someone understand her medical history?
What happens if something goes wrong and I'm not there?
And when you walk into their parents' home, you become part of the answer to those questions.
Sometimes your impact will come from making the right diagnosis or identifying a medical concern early.
Sometimes it will come from recognising that a patient needs physiotherapy, nursing support, or another intervention — and making sure that care actually happens.
Sometimes it will come from following up on a test result that reveals something important.
And sometimes, it will simply come from sitting beside someone, listening carefully, and making them feel that their health and wellbeing genuinely matter.
You won't just be treating patients. You'll be helping families feel connected, supported, and reassured — even when they're thousands of miles apart.
You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to something larger than individual consultations.
Through your clinical observations, documentation, and collaboration with our Medical Research & Clinical Quality function, you'll help Mohsyn build a deeper understanding of the people we care for and continuously improve the quality of our services.
Every visit is an opportunity to care for someone.
Every observation is an opportunity to learn something.
And every improvement we make is an opportunity to provide better care to the next family that places its trust in us.
