Nursery Manager

Prime Human Resource Services (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a dedicated Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the Dandicut chili seed development program. This role involves managing all aspects of nursery operations including seedling preparation, irrigation, pest management, and ensuring quality and productivity. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of 20 individuals, coordinating daily activities, and maintaining detailed records using various document management and time tracking software. The ideal candidate brings strong team leadership skills, expertise in plant knowledge, and proficiency in tools such as Excel and Time TRAX to drive operational efficiency. In addition to managing nursery production, the Nursery Manager plays a key role in farmer capacity-building initiatives by organizing training sessions and field demonstrations. They must facilitate project activities under the RCBI framework to ensure achievement of goals and timely reporting. The position calls for a hands-on approach in monitoring nursery workflows, enforcing best agricultural practices, and fostering a collaborative environment that supports continuous improvement and successful project implementation.
Responsibilities
 

• Supervise and manage all Dandicut chili seed development activities to maintain high quality and productivity standards.
• Oversee daily nursery operations including seedling preparation, irrigation scheduling, and pest control measures.
• Lead and coordinate a team of 20 nursery staff, providing guidance, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Organize and deliver farmer capacity-building activities such as training sessions and field demonstrations to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Facilitate the implementation of RCBI project activities, ensuring proper execution and adherence to timelines.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of nursery activities using document management software and Excel.
• Utilize time and attendance tracking tools like Time TRAX to monitor workforce scheduling and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with best agricultural practices and safety standards within the nursery environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and support smooth project execution.
• Monitor inventory of nursery supplies and coordinate procurement to avoid operational disruptions.
• Troubleshoot issues related to seedling health, irrigation systems, and pest infestations promptly and effectively.
• Report regularly on nursery performance metrics and project progress to senior management.
