Senior Technician - Rotary & Fabrication

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with rotary machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors. This role involves conducting detailed maintenance work, performing precise repairs, and fabricating custom parts to maintain and enhance equipment performance. The technician will utilize advanced skills in welding, blueprint reading, and equipment alignment to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all rotary systems. Although this position does not involve managing a team, it requires collaboration with various departments and contractors to complete assignments efficiently and meet client expectations. This role demands a proactive professional with at least five years of relevant experience, capable of installing, commissioning, and testing new equipment in diverse client environments. The technician must also design and implement preventive maintenance schedules tailored to rotary equipment, aiming to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan. The position requires thorough knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding processes, with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and execute repairs with accuracy and quality. Responsibilities
 

• Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on rotary equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, and electric motors to maintain operational integrity and safety.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform necessary repairs or replace defective components promptly to restore equipment functionality.
• Fabricate custom metal parts and components using various welding methods, cutting tools, and machining techniques, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide repairs, fabrication, and installation tasks with precision and accuracy.
• Install new rotary equipment and systems at client locations, ensuring proper assembly, alignment, and calibration to achieve optimal performance.
• Commission and test installed equipment to verify functionality and compliance with performance criteria and safety regulations.
• Develop, document, and implement preventive maintenance schedules tailored to each type of rotary equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and extend service life.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute maintenance and fabrication projects efficiently and safely.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and parts inventory to support operational planning and auditing processes.
• Stay current with advancements in rotary equipment technologies, fabrication processes, and safety practices to continuously improve service quality.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, client requirements, and relevant health and safety standards to create a safe work environment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and assist in troubleshooting complex equipment issues when needed.
