Technical Advisor - Livestock Meat Development

ABOUT ACTED PAKISTAN:

Acted has been present in Pakistan since 1993 and currently supports communities in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, and Azad Jammu Kashmir. Acted's programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. Acted's strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Assignment: The Technical Advisor – Livestock (Meat Development) will conduct baseline and mapping of meat value chains and stakeholders.

• Support social mobilization and formation of meat producer groups and alliances.
• Develop and deliver training programs on animal fattening, slaughtering hygiene, and business management.
• Conduct ToTs and prepare IEC materials.
• Develop and implement a Meat Quality and Hygiene Improvement Plan.
• Promote value addition (processing, packaging, diversification).
• Strengthen market linkages and facilitate partnerships with processors and institutional buyers.
• Provide guidance on business models and case study documentation.

Qualification & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Veterinary Sciences or Animal Husbandry (specialization in Meat Technology or Livestock Production).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 7 years in meat production, fattening farms, and value chain development.
• Familiarity with Sindh context and fluency in English is essential.
