Unit Head - Overseas Finance

UBL is looking for Unit Head - Overseas Finance for it's Qatar and Bahrain operations based out of Karachi, Pakistan. The incumbent will be responsible to assist Finance team in Qatar & Bahrain to operate the finance function of the Country and to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to the internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate and preparation of information requirements received from statutory auditor, tax consultant, regulator and group finance team.
• Review / analysis monthly result and substantiate variances Vs Budget.
• Assist in preparation of Periodic Returns, Central Bank Reports and other reports for government & regulatory agencies in compliance with applicable local Central Bank Regulations.
• Expenses monitoring, identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in carrying out proof balancing of general ledgers as per frequency defined in respective SOPs.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and guidelines in performing assigned tasks.
• Ensure the accuracy and correctness of data in the system to facilitate accurate business level profitability.
• Supervision in maintenance of Fixed Asset register.
• Act as backup of Finance Manager (Qatar & Bahrain) during leave.

Qualifications and Skills

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance, preferably ACCA/CA qualified.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, Audit Standards and Central Bank Regulations.
• Satisfactory written and oral communication.
• Must have strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization in a meaningful way.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, technical procedures and government regulations.
• Problem solving, supporting business and team working attitude at organizational level.
