Vessel Supervisor (On-Ground Job)

Job Summary
We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented professional to oversee daily terminal operations at our busy port facility. The primary focus of this role is to optimize the use of labor and equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable service delivery to our customers. The successful candidate will manage vessel loading and unloading activities, enforce strict compliance with safety and terminal protocols, and maintain effective communication with vessel crews, stevedores, and vendors. This position also requires accurate record-keeping of cargo operations, improving vessel turnaround times, resource management, and conducting regular equipment and safety inspections. Reporting operational performance to senior management is a critical responsibility in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise vessel loading and unloading operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow throughout the process.
- Enforce compliance with all relevant safety regulations and terminal procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Coordinate closely with vessel crews, stevedores, and external vendors to facilitate seamless operational activities.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date records of cargo operations and key performance metrics to support operational transparency.
- Optimize vessel turnaround times by effectively managing labor deployment and equipment utilization.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and safety measures during all operational activities to prevent incidents and downtime.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing operational performance and submit these to senior management for review and strategic planning.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a closely related field is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within the shipping or port industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of terminal operations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear reports and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
