Revenue Cycle Manager (Dermatology | Remote | Multi-Location Practice)
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and optimize billing operations across a growing, multi-location dermatology practice.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a fully remote billing team, owning the end-to-end revenue cycle, and driving measurable improvements in collections, accuracy, and compliance across a complex payer environment.
You will not only manage people β you will own performance, identify breakdowns in the revenue cycle, and implement solutions that directly impact financial outcomes.
What You Will Own
Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Oversee the full revenue cycle: charge capture, coding, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and AR resolution
- Ensure timely and accurate claim submission across multiple locations and payer types
- Monitor AR aging and enforce disciplined follow-up and escalation protocols
- Lead denial management and appeals, especially for high-value and complex cases
Team Management
- Lead and develop a remote RCM team (billers, coders, AR, denial specialists)
- Set clear KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and enforce accountability
- Manage staffing capacity, workload distribution, and operational coverage
- Recruit, onboard, and train team members aligned with defined standards
Performance & Reporting
- Track and report on key RCM metrics:
- clean claim rate, denial rate, days in AR, collection rate, net collection %
- Build and maintain dashboards for real-time performance visibility
- Identify root causes of revenue leakage and implement corrective actions
- Present monthly performance insights to leadership and finance stakeholders
Compliance & Payer Management
- Ensure full compliance with CMS, HIPAA, and payer requirements
- Manage payer escalations, disputes, and contract-related issues
- Stay current on dermatology coding updates and payer policy changes
Process & Systems Optimization
- Evaluate and improve workflows, tools, and billing processes
- Drive automation and system enhancements
- Collaborate with clinical, admin, and IT teams to reduce front-end errors
- Develop SOPs, training materials, and process documentation
What We Are Looking For
- Strong experience leading RCM operations in a multi-location healthcare or specialty practice
- Deep understanding of medical billing workflows and revenue cycle performance drivers
- Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and implement solutions
- Proven leadership experience managing remote teams
- High accountability, strong communication, and ownership mindset
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing / revenue cycle experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Experience managing billing operations in a multi-location healthcare or specialty practice
- Strong knowledge of:
- CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding
- AR management and denial resolution
- End-to-end revenue cycle operations
- Experience with billing or practice management systems
- Comfortable working in a fully remote leadership environment
Preferred (Strong Advantage)
- Dermatology, aesthetics, or plastic surgery RCM experience
- Experience with:
- Modernizing Medicine (EMA), Nextech
- Availity, Waystar or similar platforms
- Relevant certifications (CPC, CPMA, CHBME)
- Experience scaling or building RCM teams
- Exposure to payer contract management or credentialing
