Backend Engineer

Job Description

Painter Marketing Pros is looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with at least two years of experience developing backend applications using Python and FastAPI. This role requires strong expertise in building and maintaining scalable and high-performing backend systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of PostgreSQL database management and comfort working with cloud computing platforms. Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines is a plus. The Backend Engineer is responsible for developing APIs and services in a microservices architecture, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. With a focus on RESTful API design and API gateway implementation, the engineer contributes to the overall system's reliability and efficiency. The role also involves testing, debugging, and performance optimization to maintain a seamless backend infrastructure that supports the company's marketing applications. Experience or interest in AI applications is considered a valuable addition to the skill set for this position.

This isn't a REMOTE role. It's onsite in our Karachi office.

Responsibilities
 

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases for stability, performance, and scalability.
• Implement RESTful API design principles and ensure the consistency and security of API endpoints.
• Develop and maintain microservices architecture components, facilitating modular and scalable system design.
• Collaborate with cloud platform services to deploy, manage, and monitor backend applications effectively.
• Utilize Docker and API gateways to containerize applications and manage traffic efficiently.
• Set up and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate building, testing, and deployment processes.
• Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging to ensure code quality and address issues promptly.
• Optimize backend performance including load balancing and response times to meet service level objectives.
• Stay informed about emerging backend technologies and AI application trends to contribute to product innovation.
