Job Description

Riphah International University seeks a detail-oriented Finance Officer to oversee the hospital's daily financial operations and billing processes. This role focuses on managing cash verification, processing daily invoices and receipts, and reconciling accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and compliance. The Finance Officer uses Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) and Excel tools to support these activities. The position demands strict adherence to financial controls, auditing of collections, and maintaining comprehensive records. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with billing staff, ensuring efficient workflow and accuracy in daily transactions, although this position does not include managing a team. The role includes preparing detailed financial reports for university management to facilitate informed decision-making. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in finance from a recognized institution and bring 1 to 2 years of relevant healthcare financial experience.
Responsibilities
 

  • Manage and verify daily cash receipts and billing operations within the hospital setting.
  • Process daily invoices and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions using HIMS and Excel.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable regularly to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Conduct audits of counter collections to verify compliance with financial policies and prevent fraud.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports, summaries, and documentation for senior management review.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital financial policies and procedures, including regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with billing staff to monitor workflow efficiency and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, aligning with university financial schedules.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts related to hospital operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and patient billing information.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial processes and controls.
