2) Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Engineer – IT Room Equipment & Infrastructure Support to cover the APAC region (excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Taiwan region and the Americas).
This is a part-time, flexible role with potential to evolve into a long-term strategic partnership. The role is technically focused, supporting real-world projects and technical communications for IT room, server room, and IDC supporting infrastructure.
It is not a pure sales role nor a general project management position. The ideal candidate will drive technical clarity, equipment validation, and project-level technical support for regional infrastructure opportunities.
3) Key Responsibilities
Technical Support for IDC & IT Room Equipment
Deliver technical support for server room, IT room, and IDC supporting infrastructure
Review and interpret customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate equipment categories
Provide technical input for modular data centers, UPS, PDU, server racks, outdoor cabinets, precision cooling, and power & environment monitoring systems
Verify equipment applicability, scenario compatibility, and preliminary configuration logic
Requirement Clarification & Equipment Matching
Translate customer project needs into structured equipment roadmaps or preliminary bill-of-materials (BOM)
Support internal alignment on product matching, technical specifications, and deployment scenarios
Assist in technical comparison of equipment solutions where required
Quotation & Technical Communication Support
Provide technical input for commercial quotation preparation
Clarify technical inquiries during customer engagements and negotiations
Explain equipment functionality, application logic, and infrastructure integration to clients
Maintain clear technical alignment during RFQ, quotation, and order follow-up phases
Project Technical Follow-Up
Conduct ongoing technical tracking for live projects involving IDC and IT room infrastructure
Coordinate technical alignment between customer requirements and product solutions
Support technical coordination during project preparation, supply matching, and pre-delivery stages
Consolidate and share technical feedback from customer interactions and project progress
Market & Opportunity Support
Provide technical explanation and validation during customer and partner engagements
Support tracking of project opportunities related to IT room and IDC infrastructure
Assist in maintaining technical opportunity pipeline in line with SolutionMall’s partnership framework
Business development support may be included as a secondary function, with technical delivery as the primary focus.
4) Qualifications
Required
2+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following fields:
IT room / server room infrastructure support
Data center supporting hardware
UPS, PDU, rack, cabinet, cooling, or power & environment monitoring systems
Technical support for IT infrastructure or data center projects
Practical knowledge of IDC and server room equipment and their application scenarios
Ability to translate requirements into actionable equipment selection and matching
Strong communication skills for technical discussions with customers and internal teams
Comfortable working in a part-time, flexible, remote arrangement
Professional working proficiency in English
Preferred
Hands-on experience with modular data center or integrated server room projects
Background in quotation support, technical clarification, or solution design for infrastructure projects
Familiarity with APAC market ecosystem: integrators, contractors, distributors, or project clients
Additional regional language skills (e.g. Hindi, Indonesian, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese) are highly advantageous
5) Coverage
This role supports the APAC region (excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR region and the Americas).
Responsibilities may include:
IT room & IDC infrastructure technical support
Equipment selection, configuration, and matching
Quotation technical assistance
On-going project technical follow-up
