Recycling Logistic & Operations Manager

Role:

Mint Rewards is seeking a full-time Waste Management Specialist to oversee waste management initiatives, focusing on efficient and sustainable disposal practices. The role will involve creating and implementing environmentally responsible protocols, ensuring proper waste segregation and recycling, and developing relationships with industry stakeholders. The specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including technology and marketing, to support and drive the company’s waste reduction and recycling initiatives. This position offers a hybrid work model, with some remote work acceptable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead efforts in efficient waste collection and disposal to align with sustainable waste management practices.
• Organize and negotiate transportation logistics for waste collection and disposal services.
• Ensure effective waste segregation, management of recyclables, and disposal of non-recyclable waste.
• Establish and manage relationships with recycling vendors and ensure the best market rates for recyclable materials.
• Hire, train, and manage a team for waste collection, sorting, and recycling activities.
• Review and assess the legal and regulatory framework for waste management, advising on improvements and compliance measures.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders and provide technical assistance to local governments on waste management regulations and processes.
• Train team members and stakeholders on responsible waste management practices and support capacity-building initiatives.
• Develop cost-effective solid waste management plans, incorporating the best available technology and methods for resource recovery.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in waste management, solid waste management, and recycling practices (must)
• Understanding of various recyclable materials and how they are processed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Solid Waste Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience (desirable).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with local and national environmental regulations.
• Experience in creating and implementing training programs and waste reduction initiatives.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to develop comprehensive reports on waste management frameworks and recommend improvements.
• Experience collaborating with different teams to support sustainable waste initiatives.
