Senior Accountant

Job Description

Speedy Automation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, manage the general ledger, and perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. This role requires strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements and managing month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial data that supports strategic decision making within the company. This position involves managing a team of two accounting professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve department objectives. Ideal candidates must have at least seven years of experience, with a preference for candidates who have previously worked in an engineering company. Proficiency in advanced Excel skills and familiarity with tax filing and reporting are essential to support the detailed financial analysis and compliance responsibilities.
Responsibilities
 

• Manage and oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, verifying the accuracy of financial information recorded.
• Coordinate and lead the month-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion and resolution of discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including budgeting and forecasting to support business planning and operational decision making.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee tax compliance activities including timely tax filing, reporting, and coordination with external tax advisors as necessary.
• Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide actionable recommendations to management for cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Provide supervision, training, and performance feedback to a team of two accounting professionals, promoting professional growth and team effectiveness.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data integrity and support ongoing engineering projects with accurate financial insight.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills for complex financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tasks.
• Continuously review accounting processes and procedures to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and accounting standards, maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
