Gerrys Dnata is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Taxation & Accounts Officer with at least four years of experience to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in tax compliance, accounting principles, and tax filing software to ensure that all tax returns and payments are processed accurately and timely. This role requires thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance, tax auditing procedures, and tax law and regulations to maintain high standards of financial discipline within the organization. The successful candidate will take responsibility for preparing indirect tax returns, conducting reconciliations of tax-related accounts, and supporting tax audits and inquiries from various tax authorities. They will work closely with internal teams to interpret accounting data and ensure that all tax-related processes comply with local laws and professional tax regulations. This role does not include team management but requires close collaboration with other departments to maintain adherence to all provincial sales tax and corporate tax obligations.
Responsibilities
 

  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns, including timely processing of payments to meet all local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage monthly reconciliation of indirect tax relevant accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial records.
  • Ensure accurate and prompt filing of all corporate tax returns, including provincial sales tax returns such as ICT, SRB, PRA, BRA, and KPRA.
  • Provide comprehensive support on all taxation matters to maintain a high standard of tax compliance and financial discipline.
  • Perform regular reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts to verify account balances and maintain accuracy.
  • Evaluate and review all account balances, schedules, and tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Interpret accounting records related to indirect taxes, ensuring correct accounting treatment and reconciliation of input and output taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with stamp duty and professional tax laws, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
  • Assist with tax audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding effectively to inquiries from tax jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support taxation processes and provide accurate financial data for tax reporting purposes.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Finance from a recognized University
  • Atleast 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in filing provincial sales tax returns and preparing quarterly withholding income tax statements under Section 165.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience in a finance or taxation role
