Road & Transportation Design Engineer

Vernier Engineering Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., a reputable firm specializing in Infrastructure and Urban Engineering & Design, is looking to hire a skilled Road & Transportation Design Engineer for their Karachi office. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work on both local and international projects, providing expert road design services that adhere to safety and design regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed geometric road designs using Civil 3D software to ensure precision and compliance with project requirements. Conduct vehicle swept path analyses to verify that road layouts are safe and efficient for various vehicle types. Prepare and review grading plans, cross-sections, and profiles to support accurate construction and design implementation. Prepare road Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates to facilitate budgeting and resource allocation. Design pavement structures in accordance with project specifications and international standards, ensuring durability and performance. Develop designs for road signs, markings, and traffic management layouts to enhance road safety and traffic flow. Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and project specifications. Coordinate effectively with project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and internal teams, to maintain project alignment and quality. Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and specifications to support project documentation and approvals. Participate actively in design reviews, providing technical input and recommendations throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory, with a Master’s degree preferred to demonstrate advanced knowledge. Candidates must have 7 to 12 years of proven experience in road and highway design, showcasing a strong track record of successful project delivery. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software is essential for producing accurate and efficient designs. Strong technical writing and reporting skills are required to prepare clear and comprehensive documentation. Excellent coordination and communication abilities are necessary to work effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment is critical for managing responsibilities and meeting project goals.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working on international projects is highly advantageous, reflecting the company’s global project portfolio. The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs150,000 to Rs250,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The work location is on-site in Karachi, providing hands-on involvement in project execution and direct collaboration with project teams.
